This event is centered around fem!Keith/fem!Shiro (Sheith) from Voltron: Legendary Defender. Other pairings and characters may be included as long as femsheith is the primary focus of the work.In this event, you’ll submit a wishlist for a gift you’d like to receive. In turn, you’ll receive someone else’s wishlist to create art and/or fic to meet your recipient’s requests!

WHAT IS THE FEMSHEITH EXCHANGE?

The femsheith exchange is open to any artists or writers who are interested in creating femsheith content for femsheith fans! There’s no required skill level, application, or screening process to participate in this event. We are open to everyone!You’ll sign-up through the femsheith exchange form, indicating what you would like and not like to receive for your gift. From there, you’ll be assigned someone else’s wishlist while yours is assigned to another participant. Everyone creates a gift and receives a gift in turn!You have about two months to create either a piece of art or a fic that you will then gift to your recipient.Remember: Keep your recipient and your prompts a secret until posting! You’re free to talk about participating in the event, but everything else should stay a surprise until posting time!

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS FOR THE EXCHANGE?

Gift Requirements: Fanart

- Digital or traditional welcome!
- Required to create at least one finished piece (according to your style— we ask for more than a sketch. Use your best judgement, and feel free to ask if you are unsure).
- No requirements on backgrounds, rendering, or black & white vs. color.

Gift Requirements: Fanfic

- Required to write a piece of at least 1000 words.
- Check your work for grammar or spelling mistakes. (Beta-reader recommended; we will have a sign-up form for beta assignments during the event.)
- We request that the fic be finished by the end of the posting period (including if multichapter).

Gift Requirements: Fanart AND Fanfic

- If you want to create a combination of fic and art, the above rules apply for one of the pieces. If you draw a polished piece of art, you can write a short drabble. OR, if you write 1000+ words, you can draw a rougher sketch.
- Please make sure at least one of your gifts is polished, art or writing.

NSFW Content

You can make a NSFW gift if:
- You are 18+
- Your recipient is 18+
- Your recipient indicates they’d be fine with receiving NSFW contentBe mindful of NSFW posting etiquette on websites such as tumblr or twitter; we recommend tagging art #nsfw on twitter and hosting fic on Ao3.

Rules for the Exchange

By signing up, you are committing to creating a femsheith gift for someone and following their requested wishlist.Rule 1: Create a gift as outlined above, following your recipient's wishlist. Use your wishlist as inspiration and respect your recipient’s wishes. Failure to respect a recipient’s no list could result in being ineligible for future events. (Remember: Your recipient is a secret! While you can chat with a friend or two, don't reveal whose gift you're making to a wider audience!)Rule 2: If you won't be able to follow through with your assignment, let the mods know ASAP so we can make sure everyone who signed up to receive a gift does receive one. Ghosting from the event or failure to communicate with mods could result in being ineligible for future events.Rule 3: Be kind and patient with the participants of this event! Sometimes real life things come up and there can be a delay in posting gifts. Mods will communicate with you if your gift-giver needs an extension. If you aren't able to wait patiently (potentially beyond the original posting timeline), this might not be the event for you. Harassing the participants of the event in any way will result in a drop from the event and a perma-ban from future events.Rule 4: Be sure to thank your gift-giver after they made something especially for you! If you interact negatively with your gift or don't interact at all, you might be ineligible to participate in future events.Rule 5: While we welcome constructive feedback, harassing the mods will result in a drop from the event and a perma-ban from future events.

Posting Guidelines

- Posting begins October 3rd!
- If posting on twitter, mention us (@femsheith) so we can find it and rt it! Be sure to mention your recipient’s @ as well, if available. You can include the @s in a reply to the main tweet if you're short on characters and to spare your recipient from extra notifications.
- If posting on twitter, please also use the hashtags #femsheith and #sheith in your main tweet(s). We strongly recommend using the #femsheith hashtag on the main tweet for our fellow sheithers, both for fans to find it and for others to curate their experience through muted words. If you have space, you can also use #femsheithexchange.
- If posting to AO3, please post to the femsheith exchange collection: FemsheithExchange2022 (link coming soon).
- If posting anonymously, we will inform your recipient and post to twitter on your behalf.
- There is an issue on AO3 where if you create a draft for a Collection, when you post the fic, it posts to the date of the draft creation not the actual fic posting date. We recommend posting your fic to the collection on your posting date rather than using the draft feature because of this issue.

- Can I request/create content featuring Kuron/clones/other versions of Shiro and Keith?Absolutely! Be sure to note that clearly in your wish list if you'd like to receive it, and in your create list if you'd like to create it. Please only create this content if your recipient has clearly indicated that they'd like to receive it.- Can I request/create femsheith content featuring trans/nb headcanons?Yep! We’re looking for any and all content featuring femsheith. The focus of the event is for Shiro and Keith who aren't men, so that means it's open to cis, trans, and nb femsheith content. Please only create this content if your recipient has clearly indicated that they'd like to receive it.- Can I change my wishlist?Only while sign-ups are still open. After sign-ups close and assignments have gone out, wishlists are locked in.- What if I need to change my email/name/etc?Contact the mods via email or Twitter DM!- Can I post my gift to websites different from Twitter?Yes! If you don’t post to Twitter, we ask that you send us a link so we can let your recipient know that their gift is posted!- Is it okay if I need an extension? What if I need to drop out?It’s totally fine if you need an extension or to drop out. Please provide a new deadline that falls within two weeks of the posting period if you need an extension. If you miss that deadline, we will allow one more extension (of two weeks or less) before finding a pinch hitter.We will let you know if the person making your gift has asked for an extension.Please stay in contact with the mods so that we can let your recipient know and make arrangements for pinch hitters, if necessary. If you don’t check-in, respond to emails, or post within the specified time frame, we will consider you dropped and make arrangements for a pinch hitter.
